THE TRUST
Unlike other regions, Nelson doesn’t have a wildlife hospital. Vets provide treatment for injured wildlife and local rehabbers rehabilitate wildlife from home. There is no funding for this work, vets and wildlife rehabbers alike incur all costs themselves helping to rehabilitate injured native wildife. With the recent registration of New Zealand Wildlife Rehabilitation as a charitable Trust, it is hoped an increased level of support through donations and in-kind contributions will help in the treatment of wildlife patients in the Nelson region.
Our Vision:
New Zealand’s unique wildlife and natural environments are respected and valued.
Our Mission:
To provide care and rehabilitation for sick, injured or orphaned protected wildlife species.
To educate and inform our local community about the importance of respect and responsibility for the well being of our wildlife and our natural world.
To advocate on behalf of protected wildlife species with the aim of protecting them and their environment.
To work in conjunction with or assist other individuals, groups or organisations who are working to enhance and or protect protected wildlife and their environment.
SUPPORT US:
We rely on the support and good will of others to keep our efforts going as we are not funded. Donations go towards ensuring each patient gets the best possible care so that they can be released back into the wild, fit and healthy.
